Some of the best dancers in this studio started after 50. Some started after 70. Ballroom and Latin dancing were built by and for adults, they reward musicality and presence far more than athleticism, and a personalised program means nobody is pacing you against a twenty-five-year-old, or against anyone at all.
Why this studio suits this decade
Everything here is one on one: private lessons, your teacher as your partner, your pace as the only pace. There is no crowded class to keep up with and no mirror wall of strangers. Many of our students are in their 50s, 60s and beyond, and the teaching has been shaped around adults since 2014.
The gentler dances make generous starting points: the rumba at a walking pace, the waltz with its unhurried one-two-three, the foxtrot built from a stroll. From there, our 30+ styles are all open; plenty of over-50 students end up in salsa, grinning.
Good for considerably more than fun
Dancing is one of the most complete things an adult body and brain can do together: balance, posture, coordination, memory and music all working at once, plus another human being to do it with. Students consistently report it becomes the appointment they refuse to move. We wrote more on this in seven great reasons to start dancing.
Alone or with your partner
Come as a couple and learn together, or come alone and be partnered by your teacher; a large share of our students at every age arrive solo. The free introductory session is a conversation, a little dancing and a personalised recommendation, and it carries no obligation whatsoever.
