Surry Hills would have invented social dancing if it did not already exist: the suburb's whole personality is small rooms, good music and people worth meeting. The studio is fifteen minutes away in Rozelle, and it teaches exactly those skills.
Surry Hills to Darling Street
Cross town to the Anzac Bridge via the Western Distributor and you are at the studio in about fifteen minutes outside peak; a rideshare costs what two cocktails do on Crown Street and delivers considerably better cardio.
Three steps into your first session
A conversation first
We start by talking about what you would like to get out of dancing, your confidence, your pace and what you are hoping for.
A little dancing
Then some gentle dancing, entirely at your pace. You do not need to know a single step, and you do not need to bring anyone.
A plan built around you
Your instructor recommends a program suited to your goals, your skill and your learning pace. No obligation to take it.
One studio, one teacher, your pace
Surry Hills students want the skill for actual rooms, usually by next month, and that suits us: private lessons move fast because nothing in the hour is wasted, and a personalised program can aim squarely at the salsa bar, the wedding, or whatever floor is looming. Beginners welcome, solo arrivals standard.
