Salsa in a big group class means learning at the class's pace, with whoever happens to be standing opposite you. Private salsa lessons flip that: one teacher, one student or couple, and a program that starts exactly where you are, whether that is your first ever step or a plateau you have been stuck on for a year.
Why salsa rewards private teaching
Salsa is a lead-and-follow dance, and lead-and-follow is learned through your hands. In a private lesson your teacher is your partner, so every signal you give or receive is read and corrected in real time. Students routinely cover in one private session what a rotating group class covers in a month, not because the teaching is rushed but because none of it is wasted on someone else's problem.
For beginners and for the stuck
Complete beginners get a gentle, judgement-free start, covered on our beginner salsa page. Experienced dancers come to us with a specific itch: timing that drifts on2, turns that fall off balance, leading that muscles instead of invites. Private lessons are where those get fixed, because your teacher watches only you.
How it works here
Your first introductory private session is free: a conversation, a little dancing, and an honest recommendation. After it, your program is designed around your goals, schedule and pace, not sold off a shelf. That is the difference between a boutique studio and a class pass, and it has been our whole model since 2014.
